Robbins deserves credit for mass advertising the concept of NLP. I like this book better than "Awaken the Giant", less fluff and less pro- moting his other products and $3000 seminars. The NLP techniques are only a partial solution, and not an end in themselves. Easy reading. I also highly recommend "MAXIMUM ACHIEVEMENT" by Brian Tracy and the 'SILVA METHOD" or any good book on alpha waves for maximum mental repro gramming. "SUPERSELF" by Charles Givens is probably one of the most under rated self development book. I don't agree with ROBBINS nutritional ideas and have not found one person including nutritionists who either recommend this regimen or have any measureable results by using it.

I'm currently studying for a Master's Degree in Metaphysics. I read SO many books on so many different topics in this area, as well as many more spiritual, metaphysical areas. I have to say, this has been my most enjoyable text book and course to date. The Chakra Therapy course I'm enrolled has just one book (this book) for this course which surprised me since most of my courses come with two, three or four text books. It's all I need! It covers every area in the Chakra, Prana, Aura areas and more. As a text book is is very knowledgeable. But, for enjoyment, I will go back and read it again! Well written, easy read. If you're interested in learning about the chakras and how they effect your daily life and then taking it further and clearing your chakras to improve your life dramatically, you can't find better than this book!

Before taking my review to heart, please read the other reviews posted here on Amazon.com. "Jim_Young" really enjoyed it, and seems to have gotten a lot out of it. Here's my take:Because I was raised in a devoutly Christian home, I developed a great "understanding" of spirituality and religious doctrine. At the age of 14, I left the church, feeling that people's personal opinions and blind faith were far too much of the church's foundation. Now an adult, I'm returning to my spiritual roots, but not through the church. I believe very strongly in people's ability to become aware of, and work with, their energy field. For this reason, I enjoy reading about chakras and meditations for healing and working with them.I bought this book in a local book store and immediately dove in, hoping to find a personal connection with the author, and a few new exercises for the chakras. What I found was more than half the book dedicated to Keith Sherwood's spiritual quest, and not much at all about how a person can find their own spiritual center. At one point in Keith's life, he was a Pentecostal preacher... but left the church, feeling unfulfilled. To me, this was a warning. He has been in a position of spiritual leadership for some time, yet doesn't seem to have come to terms with his own spiritual destiny. He takes little pieces of many different religions and infuses them into his own. I think that many true seekers of spirituality do the same thing, and I don't have a problem with it, in and of itself. I do have a problem with those people claiming that their perspective is then the true way.In summary, this book is better read as a spiritualists autobiography than as a guide for meditation and "Chakra Therapy," as the name strongly implies. That being said, proceed at your own discretion.

Rich Dad has a series of books, with the best selling one mainly a motivational one. This book is an exception, it actually offers practical advice and tips on how to properly setup real estate investments and corporate assets. Not just how to motivate you with words.

I bought my first property just before I purchased this book. I received it just before an international business trip, and didn't get any sleep on the flight because I was pouring over the basic concepts and ideas that fill this wonderful book.

If you are already in real estate and know the basics, you may not need this book. If you already have your team of advisors and know who to go for when you have questions, you may not need this book. If you understand the differences between LLCs and LP and why one is better in California than in Nevada, you may not need this book.

For most beginning real estate investors, this book is just the right amount and just the right speed to get started. Garrett and Sharon don't look at the buy-and-flip models, but rather at the advantages of staying in real estate, building a portfolio, and intelligently upgrading your properties (1031 Exchanges). They also go over the long-term planning aspects of inheritance and how to move your properties to family members with minimal taxes. They don't profess a silver bullet, but rather a rational plan to financial success through real estate.

Verdict: Highly recommended.

Review by George C. Targonski for Rich Dad's Real Estate Advantages: Tax and Legal Secrets of Successful Real Estate Investors
Rating:
This book does for real estate investing what Pimsleur does for language learning: it teaches you to speak the real estate language, to ask knowledgeable questions, and to make informed decisions.

I have been through dozens of books, tapes, and CD programs on investing in real estate. Some are strictly motivational with little useful information. Others are like reference works and cannot be read from beginning to end. Still others hope to be meaningful forever and so dare not give you anything too current, or disputable and likely to change. Lechter and Sutton, however, wrote a book to turn a dreamer into a real estate investor. If that's what you still want at the end - but you have all the info to make the decision. Other reviewers might say that there are no "secrets" in this book - true, I suppose - but if YOU don't have a tutor for the subject, then for YOU common knowledge is a secret!

The authors give separate advice for dealing with primary residence and for investment properties. Most other books blur these separate cases. Special cases where individual state law might differ from the general situations are pointed out. Case studies and repetition are used throughout - much like Pimsleur uses conversation in each language lesson. The reader brings everything learned earlier to each case, but is stretched just a bit to see why each case is unique. Each chapter builds on prior chapters. Included is the required amount of math, but this is clearly not a math book. On the contrary, it is an enjoyable read cover-to-cover. Some of the material is current as of 2006 and this is clearly noted. I hope this book gets updated every few years.

While technically part of the Rich Dad series, the book stands on its own. The reader is fully aware of the few tacked-on references to the Rich Dad philosophy.

This book is a must-read for anyone thinking about a career in real estate investing in all its forms. Consider it the second book you read - after something like "Home Buying for Dummies."

The authors give separate advice for dealing with primary residence and for investment properties. Most other books blur these separate cases. Special cases where individual state law might differ from the general situations are pointed out. Case studies and repetition are used throughout – much like Pimsleur uses conversation in each language lesson.

Consider it the second book you read – after something like “Home Buying for Dummies.”

Now in its twelfth printing, Chakra Therapy, by Keith Sherwood, has proved itself as an essential guide for healers everywhere. Sherwood, a former minister, has trained with masters the world over and made the study of healing and human energy his life's work. He now teaches "a synthesis of Western therapeutic techniques, Taoist Yoga, and Tantra." Sherwood says that "human problems on all levels of causation--spiritual, mental, emotional and physical--are caused by contraction, the inability to radiate energy freely due to blockages in the human energy system." His book is designed to teach people how to release those blockages and fully utilize all the body's energy to heal themselves. He first presents a general discussion of the human energy system, and the ways in which it becomes blocked or fragmented. Sherwood maintains that most blockages are rooted in fear, and that the only effective way of overcoming fear is to confront it. Doing this requires honesty and courage. He says that "honesty is the willingness to see things as they truly are, not as you would like them to be. Courage is the willingness to accept what you see." Neither of these are easy, and he devotes a whole chapter to "becoming fearless." Following a chapter on the physical body, Sherwood then defines and discusses the role of the subtle bodies: the astral body, the mental body, and the causal body in energy therapy. Humans have seven primary chakras, which are energy centers located along the spine and head. Sherwood points out that the chakras must "all be open and in balance if a person is to experience wholeness and unconditional joy." The chakras in most people are blocked and unbalanced. The second half of the book contains a full description of the role of each chakra and how it can become blocked, followed by meditations and exercises for unblocking and clearing the chakra. He also includes several exercises designed to facilitate the flow of energy throughout the whole body. Sherwood promises that Chakra Therapy will help you "learn how to heal yourself by healing your energy system . . . because it is energy in its myriad forms which determines a person's physical health, emotional health, mental health and level of consciousness." Readers will find that he keeps his promise.Nancy Lorraine, Reviewer

I listened to this tape every day for 2 weeks while reading the book edition. Nobody is more motivating than Robbiins. At the time, I was like a miniture version of Robbins; newly divorced, out of work, alone and afraid. Thanks to Tony's techniques, I turned that all around. My financial life was also a mess and as per TONY'S ADVICE in a edition of Powertalk, I also bought Wealth Without Risk (now More Wealth w/o Risk) by Charles Givens. Givens tecniques did as much for me financially as Unlimited Power did for me on a Personal Development level. Thank you Tony Robbins for one of the best, if not the very best Personal Development books of all time!
